Revelation

First off, I would like to recommend that you read the translated version of the Bible that you are most comfortable with. Side-by-side translation comparisons are addressed throughout the discussions to help you for a better understanding.

The New American Bible is used in today's liturgy and can be fluently understood by the modern English speaker.  This translation DOES lose some key points, however, because certain Greek and Hebrew words and phrases are not directly relatable to today's language.  But, this is a very important version that allows God's modern people to understand and relate the Scriptures to their lives.  That is the key part.

With that being said, the version of the Bible that we recommend is the Douay-Rheims version (Challoner Revision). It is the most accurate attempt at  word-for-word English translation of the doctrinal Bible. That means it may not be perfectly fluent to the modern English ear and, unfortunately, may be hard to read, but, it is excellently true to the original intentions of the Scriptures, as we will prove throughout.

ALSO, the Ignatius Bible RSV-SCE is an awesome, awesome version.  But, it is only available through purchase (publisher's website)
